Tyre recycling, responsible disposal and sustainability

At TMS Tyres Essex Limited, we believe that looking after your vehicle should also mean looking after the planet. Every tyre we remove is handled responsibly – ensuring it’s either reused, reprocessed or fully recycled through licensed waste partners.

We take tyre disposal seriously, following all environmental regulations and working with trusted recyclers across Essex to prevent waste, pollution and illegal dumping.

Why tyre recycling matters

Old or damaged tyres don’t simply disappear – when dumped illegally or sent to landfill, they can:

  • Release harmful chemicals into soil and waterways
  • Create fire hazards that are extremely difficult to control
  • Take hundreds of years to decompose

By recycling tyres, we reduce this environmental impact while giving them a new purpose.

Recycled tyres can be used to make

  • Playground surfaces and sports pitches
  • Construction materials
  • Alternative fuels for industry

Each recycled tyre helps reduce carbon emissions and supports a more sustainable future.

Our recycling process

Whenever we fit or replace tyres – whether it’s at your home, workplace or roadside – we ensure every old tyre is collected and transferred to approved recycling facilities with our provider, Essex Tyre Recycling. From there, they’re sorted, shredded and processed into reusable materials.

This means our customers can drive away safely knowing their old tyres have been handled the right way.

Choosing a responsible tyre provider

When choosing a tyre service, it’s important to know how your old tyres are disposed of.
At TMS Tyres, we’re proud to:

  • Partner with fully licensed tyre recyclers in Essex
  • Maintain transparent records of all tyre disposals
  • Promote sustainability across every aspect of our work

By choosing TMS Tyres, you’re not just getting expert mobile tyre fitting – you’re also supporting responsible environmental practices in your local community.
