Wheel balancing & tyre alignment

We get asked a lot, what is wheel balancing and do I need it?

Wheel balancing is the process of matching the weight of the combined tyre and wheel assembly so that it spins smoothly at high speed. Balancing involves putting the wheel/tyre on a balancer, which centres the wheel and spins it to determine where the weights should go.

So in short, yes, you should get your tyres balanced when they’ve been adjusted or replaced so that at high speed your tyres are centralised and weight is distributed correctly. If you find your steering wheel starts to wobble at high speeds then it’s likely your tyres are not balanced correctly.

How long does wheel balancing take?

Balancing your wheels can take between 5 to 10 minutes depending on the vehicle and setup but rest assured we’ll keep you informed every step of the way.
